I finished this last night. This is really a big deal to me, I prefer 'young adult' or 'teen' books and this is the first big person book I have read in more than 10yrs. I think the last one I read was No Time For Sergeants that I bought at a thrift store in Portland. I really don't read all that much but I'm hoping to change that because there are a LOT of books that are on my reading list.

First time making homemade French bread.......FAIL! It doesn't even look right. B-man liked it, he sliced and toasted it. Too heavy for me, more of a biscuit texture. I won't give up, need to find another recipe to try.

For the past eight years or so for special days we celebrate with hot wings. Today is Traci's birthday and we have been looking forward to hot wings for many weeks. Not in the picture but we also had Traci's birthday pie, cherry cheese pie that she has requested for her birthday for many years.

I hate that there are piles of wood all around the fireplace during the winter, there's just not a neat way to store it. Since we bought this house the fireplace has saved our butt more than once so I won't complain.

Traci's birthday is still a week away but she wanted to go walking in the snow and she didn't have any boots. These are really rain boots but she needed something to keep her feet dry. I bought these more than a month ago so she got an early present. Happy Early Birthday!

They're calling for a blizzard, the blizzard of the century by the sounds of it. We made our way to Wal Mart like everyone else to stock up on the necessities. The store was packed with people buying cases of toilet paper, water, pop, everything needed for survival. Me....cat litter. Cat food too. We're set, bring on the blizzard!

See that switch on top? That's a timer. It's hooked up to the water heater under the kitchen sink. I turn the timer on and the water heater turns on. The old heater went out and since we had to replace it B-man decided to make my life easier and install this timer. Before, I would actually have to bend down, open the cabinet and turn the heater on. He said that was too much work.
